St. Peter's Pool

A natural pool

St. Peter's Pool is a natural rock pool on Malta's southeastern coast, about 2 km from Marsaxlokk. Seawater flows into a flat-rocked cove surrounded on three sides by cliffs, creating the effect of a natural swimming pool with turquoise, crystal-clear water.

Cliff jumping

St. Peter's Pool is famous for cliff jumping. Flat cliff edges at various heights (from 1 to about 5 metres) allow jumps into deep water. It is one of Malta's most Instagrammed spots, with hundreds of photos of jumps against the turquoise backdrop.

Zero infrastructure

There is nothing here: no sunbeds, bars, toilets, lifeguards, or parasols. You lie on flat rocks, swim in the natural cove, and enjoy the silence. The only "service" is a food truck that sometimes parks on the access road in peak season.

Practical tip: Drive from Marsaxlokk (5 minutes); the last stretch is a dirt road. Informal parking along the road. Bring water shoes (for entering from rocks), water, and a parasol. Early morning (before 10 AM) is empty; afternoons are crowded in peak season.
